Save the Date! The HCID Conference (previously HCID Open Day) is returning on Tuesday 24th June 2025 and we want to see all of you there!

This year our theme is ‘Paradigm Shift’. With the aim to explore how designers should be reacting to the major changes currently impacting society, from technology to politics to climate. Dealing with the shift, how we respond to it, how we critique, appropriate it and be proactive in the face of rapid change. The day will be split into 3 strands roughly focusing on ‘Opportunities’, ‘Challenges’ and ‘The New Normal’.

We have chosen this theme as we believe that as designers, we all have an important role to play in navigating the rapid changes facing society. Through the day we hope to offer a forum to discuss how best to navigate the challenges ahead. What does the next paradigm look like for HCI when everything is now in such flux?

We are currently seeking speakers to deliver talks exploring this theme. If you have an inspiring and actionable take on it then please get in contact with Stuart Scott and he will provide more information. We have a limited number of speaking slots available so those who express an interest will be reviewed by an organising committee ahead of being added to the schedule.

If you would like to attend, then please block out Tuesday 24th June 2025 10:30am – 6:30pm (followed by the pub).

Tickets will be released later this month!
