MSc Human-Computer Interaction Design

We offer a full-time/part-time MSc in Human-Computer Interaction Design which prioritises professional skill development in user research and user experience and places a distinctive focus on just and fair technology design for all. This programme empowers students to think in new ways about design, providing new perspectives and encouraging an orientation towards human-centred and socially impactful outcomes. Our MSc programme strikes the perfect balance between fundamental HCI theory and practical skills, with strong feed-in from cutting-edge HCI research and UX industry.

MSc in Data, Policy and Society

Launching in September 2025, this unique MSc programme combines expertise from the Sociology & Criminology and Computer Science departments. It equips students with practical research skills to critically understand and ethically assess data use across various industries. The programme addresses the integration of computational systems with social structures, emphasising the creation of fairer digital technologies and societies. Taught by specialists in social sciences and human-computer interaction, students will gain critical and ethical insights into today's computing industry, preparing them for roles in industry and government such as social policy advisers, data researchers, user experience analysts, and data policy advisers.
